Tonight, a profile on Meryl Streep was featured on CBS’ 60 Minutes. Needless to say it’s an absolute must-see – not only does it feature lots of new scenes from “The Iron Lady” but also from her early theater years and a very interesting and funny interview with Meryl on her life and career. Also, the CBS website has a gallery of fantastic rare images and additional clips of footage that didn’t make it into the programme, including on her co-stars, her big break audition, stage fright and thought about directing – have a look. The full video can be watched in the video archive.
Over 400 screencaptures from the programme have been added to the image library as well.
Last but not least, the pictures from the CBS special as well as the ones throughout the programme have been added – including an amazing still from Meryl’s professional stage debut “Trelawney of the Wells” and set pictures from “Sophie’s Choice”, “Falling in Love”, “Heartburn”, “Angels in America” and “It’s Complicated”.

You’re so lucky, we’re not getting the movie before march!!
But it’s wonderful how much we do get to see of Meryl thanks to this site. I agree, she is just so down to earth and true to the things that are important in life, she has an incredible understanding of human feelings and that I think is the key to her talent.

I loved the interveiw on 60 minutes.
If you have a DVR you need to set it for the real time for 60 min then extend the time.
Which of her daughters are actress’s? Which shows do they act in? One looks very familiar just can’t remember what show I saw her on.

This is phenomenal, thank you. I always love her personality, humour and humanity. I can relate so much to her, and I am so glad to see that she is still so passionate about what she does.
My favourite part of the video was when she moved all the brush so that the camera people wouldn’t trip. She’s so down to earth. I’m also even more excited for The Iron Lady now. The short clips of her as Margaret with dementia made me tear up!
Thanks again! This site is fantastic!

I recorded this to watch later, and when I checked it, the stupid football game had run over by half an hour! So, I completely missed Meryl’s interview!
Thanks so much for the clips!

Although I have seen dozens of interview-career appreciation shows with Meryl, I am always fascinated about how continually appealing and incisive she is. I particularly liked the promotion for the National Women’s History Museum by going to the historic and telling the story of the heroic slave woman.
