I’m not sure how reliable these news are – but in terms of unofficial movie news, I guess nothing is :-) According to Cinema Blend, in quoting Deadline New York, Streep and Nichols are very much involved, but Bridges isn’t attached to “Great Hope Springs” anymore.
Continuted from Cinema Blend: It’s a bummer not just because it would have been awesome to see The Dude and Julia Child team up as an age-appropriate couple, but because it’s pretty hard to find an actor in Streep’s age range who’s remotely up to her challenge. She and Stanley Tucci made a great team both in Devil Wears Prada and Julie & Julia but Tucci is actually 11 years her junior. At 60 Streep is seven years older than Tom Hanks but more than a decade younger than Robert Redford, Jon Voight, Dustin Hoffman – all the actors who were her contemporaries in the 70s. Bridges and Streep are nearly exactly the same age, which is just another reason they would have been perfect together.Ah well -back to the beginning. Maybe they’ll ignore the age difference and just let Tucci and Streep pair up again, since watching them eat dinner together in Julie & Julia was one of the greatest moviegoing pleasures of last year. Even if Great Hope Springs is intended as a more serious drama, I assume the two of them are more than up to it.

Raindi Mealer – I agree with you,
I love Rob and with Meryl they are, well lets just say if don wasn’t there, I would die for them to “fall in love”. When i see them together i see a real couple, not some actors, i actually believe they could possibly be the perfect couple.
Vote DeNiro & Streep!

I´m very conflicted, so I´going to be candid, I was so engaged to the the proyect with jeff, that this was, like a hugh bomb to me, so, so, I´ve try to overcome this impasse, doing research,1. Talking about De Niro. I haven´t seen Falling in Love, but something about the ending of The Deer Hunter, which I´ve seen 3 times, doesn´t make sence sence to me, but considering the age(66), he´s the ideal candidate. And the favorite between, all the fans, but in my research, I´ve found 1.a very suitable, compatible and handsome(57)Pierce Brrosnan, 2. a tall, experienced, and that have worked with Meryl widow with chemistry (58)Liam Neeson, 3. and a not a t all sispensable(59)handsome)Chris Cooper, to make great jazz(everybody knows that he said that after Adaptation:” working with her is like making great jazz, were his exact words.
And if you wanna think crazy, and i mean crazy, :
There is a 1.(63) Tommy Lee Jones
Also the must considerable(49)Colin Firth), they´ve worked togeter
And the my favorite extranger one(46) Nicolas Cage
Obviosly I´m we will never know what Meryl Think about this, this post, probably will be sent to the nut house, but nobody will think I didn´t do my homework
Hoping the best Lindi

It´s no matter with whom Meryl plays in the movie, because she
always looks wonderful. And it is not our decision.

I definitely would love to see Meryl work with Robert DeNiro again. It’s been so long and I thought they were amazing together. Stanley and Meryl make a great pair but I have I only seen them together in comedies and I would like to see them together in a different genre. Honestly anyone mentioned would be good because working with Meryl brings out the best in everyone, and movie magic can make anyone look ten years older or younger.

well, i think that stanley would be a good choice because i love the movies they already did with each other. but robert de niro would also be great. they haven’t done a movie together for so long and the chemistry between him and meryl is just perfect ;))
and jaky, you’re right: meryl doesn’t look like 60 at all!

I agree with Carly’s phrase “Hey with a little magic from the makeup department, anyone you listed could be any age :)” ahahahahahaha!
But I wish to see someone “new” by Meryl’s side in this movie.
She and De Niro or Al Pacino again would put on my face a big smile. Thinking about the others actors that have been mentioned here, I can imagine a good thing with Liam and Kevin Kline too. There’s a lot of good people they can chose to be her partner like you wrote here. Let’s hope for Meryl’s known opinions in her works help them to get the right guy.

This is a call for another Streep_-DeNiro tandem. Isn’t that they’re last movie was falling in love? They look so great together and they are dynamic actors. They should be casted together again!
