I am honored to be in company with such beautiful artists, and touched deeply by my fellow actors for their generosity in giving me this acknowledgment. (Meryl Streep, Entertainmnent Weekly)

I loved “The Iron Lady.” I vaguely remember as a young man hearing and watching on television some of the historic moments conveyed in the film. I never once saw Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady. I watched the life of Margaret Thatcher. Isn’t that the true gift that we can always count on from Meryl Streep? She will probably never win that elusive third Academy Award. Everyone knows she should have at least five by now.
The true award and reward that Streep the actress, and we the audience can always count on is this: This amazingly beautful creature will always get the coveted, treasured roles and deliver them to us with honesty, beauty and truth. THAT, my friends, is priceless, and worth more than any silly gold statue.

WOW. I just viewed The Iron Lady yesterday. I am never surprised by the quality of Meryl Streep’s work, but this one STUNNED me. Her performance was impeccable as the elder Thatcher. I had to really study the character to even find Streep in it. She was Margaret Thatcher. Surely, once Mrs. Thatcher’s family gives it some thought, they will appreciate the very sympathetic portrait of the former PM. I was totally moved, and now I want to read more about Mrs. Thatcher. Meryl Streep truly is the greatest living actress. Congratulations, Meryl, on a beautiful film. I am certainly cheering you on for #3. Thank you for the many wonderful films you have sent our way.
