Congratulations to Meryl Streep for receiving a Best Actress Oscar nomination for “The Iron Lady”. She shares the category with Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs), Viola Davis (The Help), Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn). This is the seventeenth Academy Award nomination for Meryl Streep. “The Iron Lady” has received a further nomination for Makeup (Mark Coulier and J. Roy Helland). The Academy Awards are handed out on February 26, 2012.
I am honored to be in company with such beautiful artists, and touched deeply by my fellow actors for their generosity in giving me this acknowledgment. (Meryl Streep, Entertainmnent Weekly)

I am praying hard for this one.
Meryl Streep truly deserves to win the Oscars.
I’ve been running movie reviews and analyses of the other movies starring her contenders. She’s still on top of them all. =)

I totally believe that the Academy owes Meryl this Oscar. BUT, just in case there is a split and the voters lean toward another actress, perhaps it might be politically correct to call it a “tie” and award 2 statues this year. It has happened in the past with Hepburn and Streisand!! So wouldn’t it be great if when presenting best actress Colin Firth were to say, “best actress award goes to Viola Davis AND the incredibly deserving and most overlooked actress of our time, Meryl Streep”!?

I can’t wait to hear her (win) speech this time, I’m sure it will be great! I’m pretty sure she’ll win (in France we say “never 2 without 3″).
I’ve eared her on an interview saying that she keeps her speeches for the oscar she was nominated but didn’t won… She has practice that too (speeches) ! So happy to see this news.

Totally deserving! I saw the movie and my unbiased opinion is that she really did an excellent job with the role. She totally inhabited the character. Kudos as well to J. Roy Helland, and very well deserved and long overdue.

Oh, that is so great! I’m very happy for Meryl and the film! Let’s hope that Meryl will win. Than she would have 3 Oscars and 17 nominations. Oh, I love the sound of that!!!
