Tons of new material has been published today to promote the upcoming Christmas release of “It’s Complicated”. First, there are five new clips from the film, two news segments from Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, both featuring interviews with Meryl, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. Then, a lenghty interview with Meryl talking about the film. Thanks to Nora for the heads-up!

Besides the new videos, plenty of new production stills can be now found in the Image Library.

Meryl has attended the 32nd Kennedy Center Honors, paying tribute to her colleague Robert De Niro, among others. Pictures can be found in the Image Library with additional information below.

Meryl saluted Robert De Niro at the festivities last night, and she gave him a heartfelt tribute. Streep said of De Niro: “De Niro was it. Gold standard. He’s the one we all went to school, were inspired by, stole from.” Hundreds of performers would say the same about Streep, who has yet to collect a Kennedy Center Honor. In paying tribute to honoree Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner told his pal,

Because of you, I got to walk on the same stage as Meryl Streep, the greatest actress in the world, bar none.

CBS will air the Kennedy Center Honors at 9 p.m. Dec. 29. The other honorees are Bruce Springsteen, jazz great Dave Brubeck and opera singer Grace Bumbry. Thanks to Pam for the heads-up!

Also, Meryl has received a Washington DC Film Critics Award nomination as Best Actress for “Julie & Julia”, alongside Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side), Carey Mulligan (An Education), Maya Rudolph (Away We Go) and Gabourey Sidibe (Precious). Prior to the nominees, the winners have been announced today already, honoring Miss Mulligan in the above category.

Meryl has received her first award of the 2010 award season – “It’s Complicated” was honored in the category of Best Ensemble by the National Board of Review. The NBR’s dinner to present the winners with their awards will be held on January 12, 2010.

Leslie Bennetts investigates the mystery of how, at age 60, Meryl Streep has become the industry’s “new box-office queen.” The evidence is indisputable: Her 2008 screen musical Mamma Mia!, Bennetts writes, “has grossed $601 million worldwide, despite some cringe-worthy reviews (for the movie, not its much-lauded heroine).” The Devil Wears Prada, in which Streep played a demanding fashion-magazine editrix, has raked in $324 million around the world. And Nora Ephron’s Julie & Julia, released earlier this year, has earned $121 million and counting. Producers hope for comparable results from It’s Complicated, a Christmas release featuring a love triangle between Streep, Alec Baldwin, and Steve Martin. All this unexpected success has had the effect of exploding several long-standing myths: There is no life after 40 for women in Hollywood. Au contraire! “It’s incredible – I’m 60,

and I’m playing the romantic lead in romantic comedies!” Streep says to Bennetts. “Bette Davis is rolling over in her grave.” And while Streep’s success is no guarantee that other actresses will fare any better than they traditionally have, it’s a step in the right direction. “She broke the glass ceiling of an older woman being a big star – it has never, never happened before,” says Mike Nichols. Regarding Mamma Mia! and its aforementioned box-office haul of more than a half-billion dollars, Streep says:

It’s so gratifying because it’s the audience that nobody really gives a shit about.
