Meryl Streep has won the 2013 People’s Choice Award as Movie Icon. She shared the category with Emma Thompson, Maggie Smith, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon. She was also nominated in the Best Dramatic Movie Actess category, for which Emma Watson was voted. As expected, Meryl didn’t attend the ceremony and in case I didn’t miss it, the Movie Icon category wasn’t even broadcast (if it was, let me know :-), but a clip from the Dramatic Actress segment has been added to the video archive. |

I don’t think Emma Thompson was nominated – it was Emma Watson and she was the one who won the Dramatic Actress category. But movie icon puts Meryl in a class of her own where she deserves to be.

Congratz to the movie icon win!
She deserves it, of course.
And to all the fans that are sad she did not recieve an Oscar nod for Hope Springs this year…. Meryl did not wanted to be campaigned.
Plus we all know she’ll be back next time with August:Osage County. ;)
