Here’s a big update today on all events that Meryl has attended at the US-China Forum for the Arts & Culture these past two days. First, a full video transcript of Meryl’s and Joel Coen’s Q&A has been added to the video archive. My favorite actress and the director of some of my all-time favorite movies together on a couch? Thank you, China! :-)
Then, pictures from all events have been added – additional ones to the first panel on November 18, and new pictures from the above mentioned Q&A as well as from the “Iron Lady” screening. If any Chinese visitors (and non-Chinese as well) have found more pictures or media on Meryl’s appearance, please drop me a line.

Meryl and Joel sharing a couch in China? Wouldnt it be super incredible if they also shared a MOVIE together in the near future? It would be unique and unforgettable collaboration, like the Meryl and Spike Jonze movie “Adaptation”.
And speaking of great pairings, how about a movie in China with a Chinese legendary director? Meryl Streep and Zhang Yimou? Or Meryl Streep and Chen Kaige? Meryl’s agent are you listening ?!?! You have opened a world of amazing possibilities Frederik with your posts–Thank You!

Camera work was all over the place. I think I saw more of Meryl’s shoes than her face.

Thank you Frederik for the videos and pictures of the China Cultural Forum. I particularly enjoyed the Meryl-Joel Coen panel since it did not have the simultaneous translation which interfered with the earlier videos. Meryl’s comments on “The Iron Lady” as being, in part, about old age and invoking “King Lear,” was very illuminating.
