Yet another conversation panel for “August: Osage Couty” was held as part of the SAG Foundation Conversation series and was attended by Meryl Streep, Ewan McGregor, Dermot Mulroney, Julianne Nicholson, Abigail Breslin. ““I did cry the first time I saw the movie, because, you know, the way I looked,” Streep admitted at a the panel. “I mean you look in the mirror and think ‘it’s not that bad’ and then 40 feet across, in large, it’s a different story.” The actress, who made the audience laugh throughout the whole discussion, was in a playful mood, beginning each question with a joke or two. When asked how she keeps her energy up take after take, Meryl jokingly answered, “A lot of drugs,” before quickly adding, “I’m really, really kidding. No and sadly because I could have used some uppers or something, my god.” In all seriousness, the actress replied, “You know you love the opportunity to absolutely let it rip until the 15th time, and then you just want to kill yourself. “It is a question of stamina, a lot of it… because everybody deserves the most you can give them every single time, even when you are wrung out and dry, you still have to try.”
