This profile of internationally successful Australian film director Fred Schepisi goes on location in New York with his film, "Six Degrees of Separation", based on the hit Broadway play. It also shows Schepisi the family man, at home in Melbourne with his wife and children, and covers his exceptional body of work. On-screen participants include actors Donald Sutherland, Stockard Channing and Meryl Streep. Schepisi and Streep have worked twice together, on 1985's "Plenty" and on 1988's "A Cry in the Dark".
