On Monday night, Viola Davis actress was honored at the 48th Chaplin Award Gala for her decades-long career in Hollywood, and there to support her were pals Meryl Streep and Jessica Chastain. The celebration for Davis included celebrity speakers and highlights from her films over the years. At the end of the evening, she was presented with the Chaplin Award, which goes to an actor or filmmaker who has made outstanding contributions to cinema and “whose work embodies Charles Spencer Chaplin’s qualities of realism, diversity, and courage,” per the award’s website.
