There’s not much happening right now, except eager anticipation towards the Emmy nominations (on July 15), the premiere date for season 5 of “Only Murders in the Building (most probably in August) and any news or official announcement on the sequel for “The Devil Wears Prada”. In the meantime, let’s dwell in the past some more with additional production stills and on-set pictures ranging from 1977 to 1995. Enjoy your weekend.

“Only Murders in the Building” is still filming season 5 in New York – Meryl’s return to the series has been revealed a couple weeks ago (see updates below). Now, Selena Gomez has posted a short behind the scenes video with Meryl, doing an reenactment of one of her many famous “The Devil Wears Prada” lines. You can watch the shorts on Hulu’s Youtube page. While we’re waiting for the new season, let’s dwell in the past a bit longer. Four absolute banger magazine scans have been added to the photo gallery: Two American Cinematographer issues covering “The River Wild” and “The Bridges of Madison County”, a great profile in the British Times Magazine from 2006, and a stunning cover story from the Japanese Switch magazine, featuring some amazing early pictures. Many many thanks for the latter scans to my friend Alvaro. A complete list of updates can be found below. Enjoy your Sunday.

As news are still running low and there’s nothing to report on upcoming projects, let’s dwell in the past a little longer. A bunch of fantastic magazine scans from the 1980s have been added to the photo gallery, ranging from 1983 to 1989 and coming from Portugal, France, Italy and the United Kingdom, so there’s something for everybody. Many thanks as always to my friend Alvaro for sending in these great finds. Enjoy reading.

After a fun February with a few public appearances, it has been a rather dry March. The previously announced Women Making History Awards Gala only featured a video message by Streep, which was not posted online, so there’s nothing to report. But there’s new material for the archives: Production stills, promotionals and on-set pictures from “Sophie’s Choice”, “Silkwood”, “Out of Africa” and “A Cry in the Dark” have been added, among others. A full list of all updates can be found below. Enjoy.

A new batch of production and promotional stills as well as on-set pictures has been added to the photo gallery, this time covering the 20 years between 1989 and 2008. Among the highlights are deleted scenes from “She-Devil”, where, apparently, quite a bit ended on the cutting room floor. Many of the “Doubt” production stills have been replaced with better quality versions, and there are some nice additions to “The River Wild” and the television film “First Do No Harm” as well. Enjoy the new pictures.

It’s been a while since we last posted vintage magazine scans – which doesn’t mean we haven’t been meticously saving them for slower times :-) Among today’s updates is a fantastic cover story from the American Southern Flightime dated June 1979, when Meryl Streep just had her first break into motion pictures with “The Deer Hunter”. Many thanks to Alvaro for finding this gem. There are also covers from 1984’s HBO Guide and the Portguese Bazar magazine from 1986. For a complete list of updates, have a look at the list below. Enjoy reading.

Another wonderful addition to the archives – one I have been looking for ages to finally add to the site: Meryl Streep’s second and final appearance on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show”. After promoting “Marvin’s Room” on the show in 1997, Meryl returned to Rosie’s Halloween-themed episode with a pumpkin (bearing a striking resemblance to Clint Eastwood) and talked about the theatrical release of “Music of the Heart”. The interview can be found in the video archive. Screencaptures have been added to the photo gallery.

Here comes a great find we probably didn’t even know existed. In 1984, Meryl Streep on the Norwegian TV-aksjonen, an annual national charity fund raising event, which highlights a different organization each year. 40 years ago, Amnesty International was their chosen organization, and Meryl Streep attended various events and a concert in Oslo. By the end of the fundraiser, 81 NOK millions, which equals 24.9 USD millions today, have been collected. A couple of pictures can be found in the 1984 albums for her public appearances. The Norwegian channel NRK has uploaded Meryl’s interview on TV-aksjonen, which is wonderful to watch. You can find the link below. Screencaptures have been added to the photo gallery.

Here’s another fantastic find for the archives. In the September 28, 1981, programme of “Film 81 with Barry Norman”, the BBC took us behind the scenes of “The French Lieutenant’s Woman”, which was released in the United Kingdom the following month. Besides some amazing footage from the filming, the segment also featured interviews with Karel Reisz and Jeremy Irons on the set, both reminiscing on working with “America’s greatest new star” Meryl Streep – as well as an interview with Meryl herself, conducted in London for the film’s release. The entire programme can be found in the video archive. Screencaptures have been added to the photo archive.
